


Whats on offer for junior riders?

At Murton we start teaching children to ride from the age of four and we offer a variety of activities that are specifically tailored for younger riders including lessons, own a pony days, gymkhanas, stable management and birthday parties. Children are taught how to care for ponies as well as how to ride them, with rosettes and certificates awarded to acknowledge and encourage achievements.
Riding at Murton not only develops riding skills it also develops confidence, communication skills, physical and mental strength not to mention life long friendships with like minded children! We teach in a friendly, professional environment where safety is our main priority. We offer over 30 years experience in teaching children of all ages and abilities to ride and interact with our specially selected kind, experienced horses and ponies. All staff at Murton are CRB checked and have been subjected to rigorous previous reference checks.
Whether its a child's first encounter with horses, they wish to ride as a hobby with friends or they would like to develop to competition standard, our instructors will ensure that they reach the best of their ability at a pace that suits them. So what are you waiting for?
We also offer a Pony Club and regular half term activities for children of all ages and riding abilities.
Forthcoming Children's Activities:
Own a pony day - For Leading rein and loose level lessons on Tuesday 3rd April 10.30-3pm £45
Own a pony week - For Junior, Intermediate and Senior class level. Tuesday 10th April -Friday 13th April 2012 10.30am - 3pm Daily. Children will cover dressage, show-jumping and Hacking. The week will finish with a gymkhana on Friday afternoon with rosettes for all.
2hr Hack - For experienced riders only. Riders must be hacking regularly in open spaces and be able to jump small stiles whilst out hacking.
A chance to learn how to look after your very own pony! You will learn how to muck out, groom, feed your pony and you'll have a riding lesson. Don't forget to bring your riding equipment, waterproofs, warm clothing and packed lunch. If you don't have any of this equipment the riding wear shop (located next to the office) is open Tuesday-Sunday. BOOKINGS NOW BEING TAKEN
